Second time's a charm

Because a person cannot just knit one One Skein Wonder, I have started this:

OSW2_progress.jpg

The yarn is Blue Sky Cotton. Man, why didn't anyone tell me about the greatness that is Blue Sky Cotton? I am in love with it. Its cotton, but unbelievably soft. A whole sweater made out of this stuff would be perfection.

I love that this miniature shrug takes only one skein of yarn. Its a great way to try out new yarns! Who knows if I would have discovered the Blue Sky Cotton otherwise?

And now for the exciting news of the day:
I have been accepted into the NY Marathon!!! yea! There are so many people who apply that there is a lottery, and today they drew the names. The running gods have spoken! November 6, 2005, baby!!

Congrats on the NY Marathon, but um, are you nuts?? I believe I may have raved, yes raved, about blue sky cotton (and I used that very same color) - it's yummy. I have two hanks left over from Tivoli, a one skein wonder may be in my future.

Maritza:

Congratulations on being accepted into the Marathon! Go you! (That and you have learned the dark craft of crochet in one week! You rock!)

your OSW (one skein wonder) looks great! i have some of that blue sky too, what a great idea. what happened with mine?
late last night, it was late, i decided it was time for me to give in to all this one skein stuff and i ordered the pattern and pulled out some lion brand cotton ease. i did the increases till i reached the 56 stitches and i had a baby size shrug.
then i realize that it meant 56 stitches between the middle two stitch markers, not in total.
like i said it was late. i will try again tonight. didn't really like that color of cotton too much any way.
i really enjoy your blog. hey, how's the bag!

Beautiful colour! Never tried that yarn...now I must! Congrats on the marathon....run girl, run.

i have yet to try anything by blue sky, but i think i need to! congrats on the NY marathon. i've been wanting to do a marathon but my training always dies when winter comes. what is your target min/mile? have fun training and knitting!

Congratulations on the NY marathon, you crazy running lady! At least it won't be hot and sticky in November.

AWWWWWE-SOME!!! Congrats on being accepted! Now train, train, train! You can do it!

Julia Vesper:

Pretty Pretty-

I knit one in The same stuff, but black, I made the 17" size, and ran out before the second cuff and the body ribbing. Just to letcha Know....

Great news on the marathon.

The goodness of that yarn is coming straight through the photograph!

Congrats on the marathon!!!!!!!!

You must be a fastyfast runner! (Atanarjuat! Did you ever see that movie?) I am too slow to ever do the NY marathon. Maybe the Atlanta one this fall for me???? Hmmmm.

I want to know how you're going to blog, knit, work, eat, sleep and train for this marathon. Oh that's right! You'll have to give up work.

Looking forward to following your progress.

I love me some Blue Sky! It looks great.

Congrats on the marathon (can I say it sounds insane to be happy for someone running 26 miles! lol) Maybe you can put on some sort of knitting patch so we can see you on tv. :)

Dani:

I love Blue Sky, but have yet to knit a sweater with it. I love your color :)

NY marathon! I didn't know you were a runner! I run a few days a week and maybe make it a few miles. I was a competitive swimmer through college and would rather swim the marathon than run :)

beth:

good for you on the marathon! I just posted about my visit to Purl! It was you that enabled me to buy that book! Thanks! That is a great store. I am only sorry we couldn't meet up :-(
