Swatched
I've swatched for the lucky clover sweater! Got gauge on the first try with size 3 metal circs.
Here's the washed and dried swatch.

Sam thinks the lucky swatch is his... he promptly curled up with it
I've also started on a sleeve, which is slooow going. I couldn't get used to the slippery-ness of cotton on metal needles, so switched to bamboo, Addi Naturas. Hopefully the gauge does not change much. I was looking for Crystal Palace circs since I love their DPNs so much, but it seems noone carries these. Perhaps they are no good.
Anyway, in my quasi search for CP circs, I went to the most fabulous yarn store - Seaport Yarns. They have *everything*. really everything. Its located downtown in an office building, and has a surprisingly huge selection of yarn and patterns. The best selection I've seen in NYC. And they are sooo nice. I was very very impressed.

That color looks lovely--very springy but also cool and calming. I could meditate with that swatch :-).

I like Clover bamboos much more than CP. They're cheaper and the join is much better in my opinion.

Hello Diana,
Can't wait to see your FO ... the green colour is gorgeous!
I haven't used CP circulars before so I can't offer opinion. But I do love CP DPNs ... If you really want to get CP circulars, you can try the following link:
http://www.knitty-noddy.com
I got my CP DPNs from there and the prices are the best I cann find on the internet.

I can't believe you've started. My swatching occurred 2 weeks ago - but I'm still yet to cast on.

Hey Diana, I'm new to your site and I LOVE IT! The swatch is so pretty, and I'm impressed with you washing and drying it. I do that too with cotton yarns, as they can be so unforgiving.
I may have to jump on the lucky clover bandwagon!

Hi Diana,
I was at a new yarn store today called The Point on Bedford St in the village and I'm pretty sure they had CP circs. Their website is www.thepointnyc.com

I love the color you chose for the lucky clover sweater. My next sweater is going to be green too, but mine will be a pale green. Does washing your cotton swatch change the gauge at all? I have a swatch in Rowan Cotton 4-ply that is 24 sts/10cm and I need 25 - I'm not sure it I should try a size 1 needle instead of the 2 (which would mean I'd need a 0 for the ribbing - yikes) or if washing it will give me that extra stitch, or maybe I was just knitting rather loose and if I tried it again it would be a tad bit tighter. Gauge swatches make me crazy. What are your thoughts?

Hi! Your swatch looks great. What kind of yarn is that, or did you already say? Re: Crystal Palace circs - sometimes the joins come apart - but I agree, they are very smooth. I love Clover bamboos, which are not as highly polished, but very well-made and cheaper than Crystal Palace, in my experience. Happy Lucky knitting! I need to get back to my sleeves...
